Maybe one of the reasons why Miss Universe became as prestigious and popular as it is now is because it offers a glimpse to that possibility of us being united despite our differences. Looking at how different we are from each other can reveal many things but we too have some things in common and in many ways we have something special to offer one another. True to this ideals, Miss Universe holds a tremendous potential to bring oneness to humanity by being the medium to showcase the beauty of cultures around the world through women.
From then to now, celebrating uniqueness of world cultures and looking at beauty in several perspectives have been an important theme of the Miss Universe. The National Costume Competition, a parade of women dressed in their own country’s traditional dresses highlights this in the best way possible. As mentioned in one of our previous posts, many find the Miss Universe National Costume competition one of the most exciting parts of the pageant. And so the preparations of contestants and those around them for this portion of the event has been nothing but tremendous. To carry the hopes and aspirations of one’s country and its people is indeed a serious matter.

thanks for the nice costume pictures. i don’t think miss venezuela would wear something like the one only convering her nipples. she would not need anything to have her talked about because she is herself is Miss Venezuela. that itself is something to talk about. second, she is so gorgeous that it might be a three-feat. third, she is just too fresh-youthful looking and gorgeous i would predict she will be in the top 3.
